The 2022 season ain't over yet!

With less than two weeks left of the season, Spring's in full swing in the Skyline Terrain Park, Mt Buller. The park dedicated T-Bar's nestled in between side hit city Bull Run and punter central Bourke St. The 2.5 minute lap has 5 jumps and 15 features of hot lap paradise.

We had a quick chin wag with some of the Mt Buller park crew about their season, what they eat for smoko, favourite park features and more...

OG Team Rider and rake master Tyson Pollard, has recently swapped the rake for the cat blade, helping kiwi ex pat and Absolut Park builder Mikey Mccloy create one of the best parks Buller has seen in years.

Name: Tyson Pollard

How long have you worked in the park: I was a hand shaper for 9 years, got in a cat at the start of Covid and this is my first year managing and building the parks.

Favourite Park Feature: I’m a sucker for a jump!

The best part about working park crew: Riding what you build is cool, but more recently I get a lot of satisfaction out of pushing our park program providing a product that has people hyped.

Favourite Memory from the 2022 season: Cattleman’s cup, a new event concept, rolled the dice on the weather, the whole team put in 110% to make it happen, and the two days couldn’t have turned out better.

What’s for smoko: Night shift, smokos normally at 4 or 5 Am and consists of whatever leftovers I can jam into a toasty.

What you doin when you’re not riding or raking: Fishing, Motos, exploring with the misses, tinkering.

Plans after the season: Take a couple of days off, get straight into summer works up here. Colin’s promised to get me onto a shark over the summer too so that’s gonna be sick.

New addition to the Yuki team roster and recently appointed Buller Parks supervisor Jack Marks has been hustling through all conditions to get 3 stacked lines with a bunch of tasty new features including the bowling ball and c-rail for 2022.

Name: Jack Marks

How long have you worked in the park?: One season volunteering in Sun Peaks and four seasons working in Buller.

Favourite Feature: Flat or up rail with a long landing.

The best part about working park crew: Riding what you build, thinking creatively and analyzing why something rides well or why it might not. Also, watching the kids shred and the crew getting new tricks.

Favourite Memory from 2022 season: There was one-day mid-winter when we rode the jumps in Skyline most of the afternoon. Trying different spins and grab variations which was sick!

What’s for smoko: Tirol EBSD and a custard doughnut.

What u doin when you’re not riding or raking: Checking the BOM to see when the next sunny day is.

Plans after the season: Touring NZ for the summer, mind-ride Skyline till next winter.

Yuki Ambassador Ebony Downward can be found lapping skyline Skyline with a big smile most days of the season, winning best new female talent at the cattlemans rail jam, safe to say 2022 has been one of the best yet!

Name: Ebony Downward

How long have you worked in the park: I’ve worked in the park for 4 seasons.

How long have you worked in the park: My favourite feature right now would have to be the DFD fo sure or the classic fat tube, my guts seem to love that rainbow though 🧐🌮

The best part about working park crew: I get to be in and around the place I love all day every day, with all of my friends. We always have a tight crew and sharing the froth for the park with everybody around us is pretty unbeatable if you ask me, I get paid to do all the things I love. Raking, shovelling, riding and banter. It doesn’t get much better than that!

Favourite Memory from 2022 season: Would have to be the cattleman’s cup for sure, first competition I’ve ever entered ☺️

What’s for smoko: Smoko is always Tirol, E&B on SD no B ;) if you know you know.

What you doin when you’re not riding or raking: When I’m not riding or raking I’m usually smashing beers or going for a sneaky trip somewhere.
