Product testing. It's the difference between winging it and having a product that you know is going to perform and last the test of time. We put the new bibs on Jack during the filming of Alpine Streets. See how they faired... slam after slam.
Here from the man himself...
'Naturally, I love Yuki bibs - love the style and have been riding them for a few seasons now. I was particularly stoked when I saw the blue and yellow patterned bibs that Mitch gave me to test out when I arrived in Victoria to film Alpine Streets. The color way is really cool and the yellow behind the knees stands out. Since I film a lot I’m always looking for some color to wear so I don’t blend into the background. The new look is perfect I thought. Then came the real ride testing. I know Yuki bibs traditionally hold up pretty well. I do take a lot of rail tacos and slide out on my behind all the time. I rock the bibs because they offer a little extra protection. That being said they are generally my first garment to get torn and tattered from rails and branches. When I started filming in the new bibs the first things I noticed were small improvements from last years’. To start out with the straps are more solid and didn’t budge from the constant hiking and slamming. The pockets are bigger and helped me access my phone more easily, and the zippers are easier. We also experienced some heavy wet snow and rain. Such is the Australian Alpine. Coming into our bunk house feeling fully saturated from wearing my jumper in the rain - but my underwear... probably the only dry layer left on me thanks to the bibs! The other good test was that they held up after taking many slams. Cheese grater stairs, pavement, ice and street rails were not enough to rip these bad boys. They looked almost like new by the end of the trip even though they did NOT smell like new anymore. In the end I got some great content and am psyched on the new look! I had an absolute blast filming and was very pleased to bring these pants back to Colorado for some more shredding.'
