Global 26 - Dropping!

FIRST VIP ACCESS TO THE KIT

Hey crew,

We’re stoked to be sending our Global 26 collection off into the wilderness. We genuinely hope you love it. It’s refined and considered.

Part of our design philosophy at Yuki is to start with us and what we want, even though we’re making gear for you. The reason why we do this is because we are you. We’re still out riding, doing trips, catching chairs beside you or swapping yarns on the skin track. So, for me, it makes sense to think about what we want, then look at what our riders and ambassadors want and keep broadening, making sure it all tracks. The whole way asking: are we in sync here? Is there a disconnect here? Are we still able to produce the gear you guys are looking for?

This is how Global 26 was created. We looked around when we were in Japan shredding with you guys and asked, what kind of riding are most crew doing? What would be the perfect kit for that?

Take a cheeky look.

Slack Country Puffer in Purple – only 124 pieces – worn with black snow pants in front of snowy Japanese mountains. Review from Alma Schläpfer: “The puffer jacket is super nice and warm, has a nice fit, can be packed up small and is very lightweight. The material looks and feels nice. It’s perfect for under a hardshell jacket or on its own.” Below, close-ups of the new Slack Country Bib in black, worn over the purple puffer.

The Slack Country Story

Named specifically for the place a lot of us play all season long. Slaying pow in between the groomer and the backcountry. These pieces are specced up so you can go backcountry on any day Japan will throw at you with no sweat. You'll have all the fabric tech you need (20k/20k) and all the hidden features you want like skin pockets, full length leg vents and more. But! The thing that sets this apart is it’s still styled the way you want it. Sick fit, fun logo story – no “I’m a mountaineer hero” energy. And don't forget the unassuming arguably the most important piece of the puzzle for the 'no sweat'. The Slack Country Puffer.

The more you ride the more you learn it's about regulating your temp to keep you out there longer so you're not too cold but a lot of the time too hot. When you get hot (ripping an epic lap) you sweat, when you stop (say get on a lift) you cool down, that sweat cools down... You freeze your butt off, get cold to the bone and have to go in to warm up. Hack - many good quality layers you can put on and take off. Monitor your temp. Get pitted all day.

Icing on the cake: we’ve spent a while testing and this year we’re ready to bring back the bib!! I know you’re probs thinking “bro that’s so 2015”. Yes, in resort cruisin’, but when you’re in Japan, trust me, your knickers will thank me at the end of the day when they’re not wet from all the snow down your butt from all the [epic] tomahawks from sending it in bottomless pow – unless a little bit of wee came out... Don’t worry, it happens to us all sometimes. It’s the price you pay for fun.

Oh and the cherry on top, yes it does have a butt flap for the ladies and a two way fly for the gents.

Slack Country Bib in Black – only 148 pieces – shown with its full-length side zip open, and the Slack Country Jacket in purple from the back. Review from Filippo Annoni, pictured smiling in a dark Slack Country Jacket at night in Japan: “I was finally able to try my new Slack Country jacket on the slopes and I absolutely love it! The jacket fits perfectly, I bought a size XL and being 186 cm tall fits perfectly and slightly oversized. The amount and dimensions of the pockets is amazing, breathability is perfect especially now towards the end of the season and the waterproof rating is accurate!” A snow-covered volcano sits below. Made with organic cotton, recycled polyester and Fair Trade USA Certified™. Close-ups of the light blue Genki Jacket showing the Yuki patch and the bird logo on the sleeve. “But what if you’re like, ‘I ain’t no scroggin muncher and I don’t wanna pay for your stupid pockets and weird vents?’ All G, home slice, we gotchu!” Rider carving through Japan powder in a light blue Genki Jacket. Review from Graeme Pye: “Genki is the go! Looking good styling a Genki jacket in Japan powder. Kept me dry all day long, loving the colour, comfortable fit, fantastic design and high quality materials.” Also shown: a rider in the Genki Jacket in Island Fossil with goggles and a beanie, and a crew of riders among snowy birch trees.

Genki

Your vibe and specifically named so (Genki means feel good in Japanese). And you will feel good. Fun colours, sick fit but not the boring baggy pants, the concertina pleats give it the style you’re looking for.

The jacket is minimal with the same pleats in the elbows, which lets people know it’s a minimal vibe but you ain’t a basic bitch. Also this leaves a bunch more in the kit account so you can grab a hoodie or two for the trip. Think flights, travel days, something to drip your ramen on, an extra layer and heaven forbid a sunny day so you can throw it on and lap the park or euro carve the shit out of that fresh cord.

I could waffle on forever, but all in all, we can’t wait to get this out for you so you can stock up and have a hell trip in the northern hemi, grab a cheeky [freshie?] or stock up for next Aus season.

Genki Jacket in Island Fossil – only 215 pieces – worn with matching pants and a purple beanie. Also shown: light blue snow pants with a snowboard on a rocky snow slope, the back graphic of a light blue hoodie, and a rider in a teal beanie and sunglasses wearing a black Yuki Threads layer.

Get in quick, crew. We only made a small run of each piece, and once they’re gone, they’re gone. Sign up for early access and grab the kit you’ve been frothing on.

Big love fam. See you on the hill,

Mitch
Window Hoodie in purple – only 149 pieces – worn hood up with sunglasses by a rider crouching in the snow, set against a blue sky, power lines and snow-laden pine trees.
